There is a lot of confusion over the Rapture, one of them being “will the Rapture happen before or after the Tribulation? Well I’m going to answer that question with some Bible verses.
Revelation 4:1 “After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter.”
2 Timothy Chapter 2:3-4 “Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.”
Now, first the first verse (that’s a bit of a mouthful). In Revelation 4, John is a “type” of the Church. Knowing that, let’s look at the verse closely. At the beginning of the verse, it says “After this”. The first 3 chapters of Revelation is the “Church Age” and since chapter 4 comes straight after chapters 1-3, then we can deduct that John is saying the Rapture will happen AFTER the Church Age, which we are living in at the moment.
Then it goes on to say “and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter.” That means something is going to happen AFTER the Rapture. And what happens from Revelation 5:1-19:11? The Time of Jacobs’s Trouble. So this means that the Rapture will happen AFTER the Church Age and BEFORE the start of the Time of Jacob’s Trouble.
Second verse. In this verse the Bible is talking about Christians being soldiers of Christ. What can this mean? Well, let’s read Revelation 19:14:
Revelation 19:14 “And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.”
The armies… Umm. Just remember that the Time of Jacob’s Trouble stops at verse 11, so verse 14 is Christ’s Second coming. The “armies” in Heaven can only be the Rapture Saints. 2 Timothy Chapter 2:3-4 confirms this.
