What does the Bible say about the Rapture?

First of all, let’s get this straight- the word “Rapture” does not appear in the Bible. It comes from the  Latin word rapare which means “seize”, “snatch” or “take away.”

So what does the Bible say about it? Let’s find out.

We know that no one knows when it will happen, except God Himself.

Matthew 24:36

“But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.”

The Bible also says that it will happen in an instant.

1 Corinthians 15:52

“In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.”

The Bible also says that first the “dead in Christ” will be Raptured then we will.

1 Thessalonians Chapter 4:16-18

“For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.”

What a wonderful day it will be!!!!

Revelation 22:20-21

“He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.”
