Ever heard of the “Message” Bible? Well, it should be called the mess-of-the-Bible version.
You see, it teaches that Jesus died on the cross so we could “have a whole and lasting life.” Here’s what the KJV says:
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
Now, what does “The Message” say?
John 3:16, “The Message”
“This is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, his one and only Son. And this is why: so that no one need be destroyed; by believing in him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life.”
See that? Let’s take a look at another verse, shall we?
Acts 16:30-31, KJV
“And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.”
Acts 16:30-31, “The Message”
“Sirs, what do I have to do to be saved, to really live?” They said, “Put your entire trust in the Master Jesus. Then you’ll live as you were meant to live—and everyone in your house included!”
What? “Then you’ll live as you were meant to live”?????????? What kind of Bible is this?
If you use this Bible, you might want to check up on your salvation. What was the real reason you turned to Jesus? Was it so you could be forgiven of your sins or was it so you could have a better life now?
If you aren’t saved, please read my post on how to get saved…
…and do as my sister in Christ, Denise, suggested in the comments below and “burn this pile of trash in your backyard!!”!!! Seriously, do it. It will be worth watching it going up in smoke. Try using a magnifying lens to do it.
