Romans 12:2 says, “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” What does it mean to be not conformed to this world? Today we’ll answer this question, straight from the Bible, the Word of God.
This verse means exactly what it says. We, as Christians, are not to be as the world is, but rather, to live for the Lord. Jesus said in John 15:19, “If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.”
Today’s world is full of sin and we shouldn’t be following this. The world loves things that are against God, like lust, the love of money, idolatry and many, many more sins.
We are in the world but are called to live for Christ.
Romans 12:2
“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
We are called to preach the Gospel, which “is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.” Romans 1:16.
However, only faith can save us. No good works on our behalf can get us eternal life. Only the shed Blood of Christ can cleanse us from all sin.
That’s why we always go to the Bible for an answer.
And as far as the warning is concerned the “Good Life” is yet to come. Lord Jesus’ dying on the cross by His Blood is the payment for our sin; by His death the Saviour re-gained the power over the grave.
